(Click 👆️ to read more)
OpenAI and Anthropic conducted a mutual safety assessment, evaluating each other’s publicly released models to identify misalignment risks.
Results show improvements in GPT-5—such as reduced sycophancy, fewer hallucinations, and stronger resistance to misuse—highlighting the value of reasoning-based safety techniques.
This collaboration fosters transparency and accountability, encouraging cross-lab efforts to uncover otherwise overlooked safety gaps.
Google has made its AI-assisted video editor, Vids, available to all users—not just Workspace or AI plan subscribers.
While core features like storyboard generation, pre-made avatars, and background music are included in the free version, advanced AI enhancements such as animated avatars reading scripts aren't yet supported.
New tools also enable creation of 8-second videos from specific images and can automatically remove filler words and pauses from self-recorded clips, simplifying content creation.
Nvidia reported Q2 revenue of approximately $46.7 billion, marking a 56% year-over-year increase; data center revenue reached $41.1 billion, driven by strong demand for Blackwell-based systems.
GAAP EPS was $1.08, while non-GAAP EPS stood at $1.05—both exceeding analyst expectations; the company also approved a massive $60 billion share repurchase authorization.
Despite beating top-line estimates, shares slipped ~3% in after-hours trading amid concerns about uncertain chip sales to China and slightly weaker data center revenue guidance.
The BYD Yangwang U9 Track Edition has become the fastest electric vehicle in the world, clocking a top speed of 293.5 mph (472.4 km/h)—surpassing the Rimac Nevera's previous record of 268.2 mph.
This record is powered by a quad-motor system delivering an astonishing 2,960 hp, far exceeding the Nevera’s 1,989 hp and boasting over 1,000 hp per ton in power-to-weight ratio.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but it's expected to be significantly higher than the standard U9 supercar, which already costs around $230,000.
OpenAI has announced that it will introduce parental controls for ChatGPT after a 16-year-old’s suicide, which followed months of confiding in the chatbot.
Planned features include the ability for teens (with parental oversight) to designate a trusted emergency contact, as well as one-click messaging or calls in crisis situations.
OpenAI acknowledged that safety mechanisms can erode over extended conversations and is developing GPT-5 updates to better de-escalate crises and enable direct outreach to designated contacts.
